Our Liverpool branch is in the centre of an exciting afternoon in Liverpool City Centre! Up to half a million are flocking to see the giant spectacular.
A giant puppet of a little girl has “woken up” in Liverpool’s Stanley Park, to mark the start of a three-day street theatre event in the city.
The 30ft (9m) tall wooden puppet will walk through the streets of Liverpool over the weekend, as she plays out a story inspired by the Titanic. A 50ft (15m) tall puppet of her uncle will arrive in the city about 14:30 BST and the pair will meet up on Sunday. More than 250,000 people are expected to attend the Sea Odyssey event.
It has been created by Nantes-based French company Royal De Luxe as part of Liverpool’s commemorations for the recent 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.
